Ways to Give
Your gift supports our work to build a future where all Californians live in green, healthy, and joyful homes that are deeply and permanently affordable. Your gift will contribute to the ongoing rehabilitation of our 2231 East 28th St. property, supportive programs for our formerly unhoused families, and to acquiring and building new homes for Oakland’s unhoused community members.
More Ways to Donate
You are also welcome to send contributions via mail directly to Just Homes at PO BOX 22753, Oakland, CA 94609.
Donate via CheckQualified CharitableDistributions (QCD)If you are age 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows you to give directly from your IRA to support our mission. This type of gift can satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD), potentially reduce your taxable income, and offer a simple, tax-efficient way to make a meaningful impact today. For more information on making a QCD to Just Homes or to get started, please contact your IRA custodian for guidance.
Double or even triple the impact of your gift through your employer’s matching gift program. To learn more about your workplace giving program, contact your HR administrator. You can also use this tool to see if your employer participates in a matching gift program.
Matching GiftsStock Giving Donating appreciated stocks can be a powerful way to give. By transferring securities directly, you may avoid capital gains taxes while receiving a charitable deduction for the full fair market value. This allows you to maximize both your impact and potential tax benefits.
Donor-Advised Fund GiftsDonor-advised funds provide a simple and efficient way to manage your charitable giving. Please note that the IRS has specific guidelines regarding charitable donations from DAFs.
Real Estate Donations
Gifts of real estate, such as homes, land, or commercial property, can make a transformative difference for Just Homes. Donating property may help you avoid capital gains taxes and reduce estate burdens, while directly providing housing for the communities we serve. Our team can help guide you through the process to ensure a smooth and beneficial transfer.
